The "Basics"

You must maintain a current handicap at Challedon to play in any of the Challedon MISGA Mixers. 

The Challedon Handicaps are maintained on the Golf Handicap Information Network (GHIN) so you can post your scores online or at Challedon. Scores should be posted as soon as possible after completing your round. Per the World Handicap System, that should be the same day of play.

Maximum Number of Strokes per Hole, or
Equitable Stoke Control (ESC)

Did you know that according to the USGA you are allowed to record, based on your handicap, a maximum of net double bogey on any given hole for handicap purposes? That is, par + 2 + number of strokes you get on that hole. Note that it is always best to post hole-by-hole so that the computer can make these adjustments, as well as ensure correct addition.

The Challedon MISGA handicap committee will post all scores for away MISGA events. Please make sure you provide your scorecards (or a copy thereof) to said representative the day of the MISGA event.

For home MISGA events, your score will be automatically posted as part of the mixer tabulation at the end of play.

Note that MISGA mixer events are NOT posted as tournament scores per State MISGA directive. However, MISGA tournament events such as ABCD and Two-Man will be posted as tournament scores..

Active Season for Handicaps

An active season means that period of time in which posted scores will be used to determine handicaps. Because of seasonal differences around the country, active seasons may also differ around the country. In Maryland, the active season is March 15 through November 14. So rounds played in Maryland and posted during this period will count toward your handicap.  For rounds played in warmer areas, the scores should be entered even during the winter months. For example, Florida's active season is All Year while Pennsylvania's active season is April 1 through October 31.  West Virginia's active season is March 1 through October 31.  Virginia and Myrtle Beach, like Florida, do not have an inactive season.
